Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku follows Gabimaru the Hollow, a legendary ninja assassin sentenced to execution, who is given one last chance at a pardon: retrieve the elixir of immortality from Shinsenkyo, a remote island shrouded in myth and monsters. He is paired with Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, a stoic executioner ordered to bring back his head should he fail or try to flee. Together with a crew of fellow death-row convicts and their own executioner escorts, they are dropped onto the island and forced to survive grotesque, plant-born creatures while racing to uncover the secret of eternal life. This volume pushes the story toward its climax as the true nature of Shinsenkyo and the elixir is further revealed.
